I see the owner attempted to remove the problem and looks like some really bad fugitive color migration, I think I'm in over my head on this one. I would love to just use the

Here I cleaned it with all fiber low ph but its still got problems, some damage on the back. Can I use the edic to inject the bio-enzyme? Can this be repaired? Is it worth it?

There is nothing more you can do. It needs to go to a professional shop for repairs. Up to the owner if it is worth it. Check in your neighborhood if anyone does rug repairs.

I did watch Aaron's webinar and I can do a lot of what he said. The rug has bleed and I fell I can fix a lot of that but when you say repair are you talking the hole? That I agree needs a pro, I don't feel comfortable cutting in a patch, but I have all the items Aaron was showing us, the steam, the air brush, the odor remover, and the rug was washed and still looks awesome it's not pink. I feel like they put this in my hands and just want the best they can get. I hate to send it off when I'm trying to build this carpet company of mine and I'll never learn or make a living if I just send off the items to someone else. I really need to get up and running with this type of repairs. With this damage already done, cant I make these repairs here at some point. I really fell in love with this huge rug. I think I broke my finger moving it (ouch i.e. )

What is it worth and are you willing to take responsibility for it? I wouldn't tough it unless the owner has signed off of it as salvage. The urine could have freed up dyes that will migrate when you start cleaning.

Proceed slowly test an area before jumping in fully.

How is that repaired?

There are expert oriental repair shops that specialize in reweaving, color repair, fringing and so on. It's hard to find a good one. I used to have one in my neighborhood, their expert was their old grandmother who used to weave these rugs since she was a little girl. Unfortunately, she has passed away and the shop does just the basic repairs. This looks like a tough rug to try and color correct if you haven't done it before. The problem is that if you want to play around with it, it is probably going to become your rug.

The urine caused the migration. This is not a rug to try and fix yourself, even with Magic. It will remove all the colors with out effort if your not careful, and those are some very small areas to be attempting dye correction on for the first time. There are safer ways to strip the colors out of this rug but only by people who are doing this day in and day out. You should skip this trial and error on their rug and take it to BonTon there in Boston and have them correct it. Its not a cheap option, but its cheaper than getting stuck with the cost of replacing that rug. If the customer is blaming you, this will make you shine, rather than causing additional bleaching or damage.

stains from pets are probably the most common of all stains in Oriental rugs. They present a special problem because urine actually changes the chemical composition of dyes once it has had a chance to set. The best strategy then (besides preventing it from happening) is to remove it the same way as other stains- as fast as possible. After removing as much as possible, rinse the area with a solution of water and distilled white vinegar- about one tablespoon per cup of water- and then remove as much as possible from the rug. If a urine stain is already dry when you discover it, act as quickly as possible anyway, and get the rug to an Oriental rug cleaning specialist. Enzyme type urine removers feed on wool and should not be used on Oriental rugs.

If you can find a rug expert, they weave in new wool. It's becoming a lost art but there are still some people around who know what they are doing.

Depends on the value of the rug. Reweaving can be quite costly, so the typical hand-knotted rug isn't worth repairing this way unless the damage is minor. Although some people are high on hand-coloring to hide wear, others believe it's an unethical practice used only to dupe future rug buyers. As a cleaner, watch out for hand-coloring, as it can easily bleed out and "ruin" a rug.
