I realize things are dIfFerEnt in Canada, but it the US wet carpet often has something to do with cleaning.
What you're not getting is that the carpets are having color issues before getting wet.

Or they’re having color issues because they’re wet … and an item was placed on it.
I’m not certain how you can be so confident which is the case without testing,

The purple tells me color loss, not wet issues.

If it were a wet issue, it’d be moldy color

I ran into a carpet today that had a moving box size purple area under where the bed had been. It’s a rental and is empty. Upon close inspection, I found varying tones of purple all over the house in a broadcast pattern. It’s a brown carpet originally. My theory, for all it’s worth, is someone either cleaned the carpet with something that damaged the dye, or a flea treatment was performed, right before someone moved in. I say that because the box size square, deep purple stain under the bed suggests someone put a square object onto the wet carpet under the bed while the carpet was still wet. However, there’s no purple stains from furniture placement, suggesting I might be wrong there.
What do you inbreds (and Jim) think could have caused this. I realized everyone else (except maybe Pemberton) is guessing but I’m curious.
Please tell me that you smelled curry seasoning in the house . Curry has nothing to do with the color though. I've experienced similar, but more like purple-reddish areas from powder that certain nationals use for religious rituals. A powder -like substance is embedded in the fibers and owners never care to remove them . This is my wild guess 🤪 about the origin of stain you found.

I’ve run Amsoil in my van since break in.

The guys at the dealership that services the van, (not the TM portion), can’t believe how smooth and clean the van runs…

I’d NEVER run anything else on my TM van, OR my personal vehicles….

ALL MY VEHICLES RUN ON AMSOIL

Unless you can prove me wrong, I’ll never change my ways.

Zero oil burn, ZERO KNOCK , twice, to three times between changes.

HUGE AMSOIL FANBOY HERE…

As a matter of fact, my ‘farm truck’, a 2000 Toyota Tacoma, had 250,000 miles on it when i bought it. It ran a little rough. I switched to Amsoil , and now have over 325,000 miles on it.

It runs smoother, cleaner, and quieter than it did since purchasing it…

Food for thought.

It's been so long probably 20 years since I've used a message board so pardon my bumble-footing around but I don't see a picture of the carpet anywhere. Did you post one?

in fact it's going to storm up top this Sunday so I rescheduled the Mendocino ride for June
You would love this. I got my dad a Tesla Model S. His driving is scary at best, so I figured it would help him having a self driving car. The thing is absolutely amazing. We also got the free lifetime supercharging, so he never has to pay to charge it. Anyway, it has a moving rain radar map. So cool.
