Can you use diesel heater inside of van? Not sure how I can get extension cord out of the house without going thru a window and would be the same at the van. Any ideas?

I did for years. Still have it as my backup. When I had it in a cds I ran it off an inverter since the van was running anyway. An extension cord to the porch or in the front door is no big deal. Make sure it has a GFI though.

Hire someone to mount one of these depending on the size heater you want to use if you choose electric

I have run a Chinese diesel heater when needed. Make sure you get the kind you can exhaust outside. Mine is DC and runs off a battery. They work amazing. Not bad insurance to run windshield washer fluid through everything at night either. Cost you about $10. I would always work the cost of winterizing into my invoices by charging a few cents more per square ft. I always upfront with my customers about it and they always understood.

Are you asking about Heat for keeping your van warm during winter, or using a diesel heater to heat your solution line?

I never had to worry about winter.. I'd give up if I didn't have a heated garage.. Too much bs to winterize it..

They have 12 volt diesel heaters but I would recommend an additional 12 volt battery wired to charge off your van with a switch to recharge while driving.

Im thinking your talking about heating the van, not the solution line. You should be able to put the extension cord between the two back doors on the bottom

Use a Noco plug, mount the diesel heater inside, pipe the exhaust outside via floor. Easy - 10 minute install. I put this in the other thread and had no traction in the discussion vs electric. Diesel heater uses like 20 watts after the glow plugs warm up on start. I also did quite a bit of testing and am getting ~18-20 hours with a 1.9 gallon tank with heat setting 6 of 10. I would put setting 4 of 10 at about a 1500w electric heater, so anything above that will have better results but of course you have to use fuel (near equal cost as electric at current diesel rates).

Diesel Heater I put in due to largest tank I could find.

Plug RV Port, just drill on the side, 3 screws to mount.
