Pocket Pressure Popper Thingy

That thing, do you guys know of a little tool we can carry in our pocket to release the pressure on our quick connect when a valve accidentally gets opened and no tool is connected.

Sometimes there is so much resistance I can't slam a male quick connect in it and have to go to the truck to turn the pressure down. Major pain in the butt...

I dont carry a little tool, i carry a male quick connect fitting. If you can't pop the female open under"normal"pressure (300-500psi) you have one of 2 things working against you (or both) first a leaky/ weeping valve. Second cheap ass Chinese quick connects. If the valve is still weeping when turned off, if possible with an allen wrench, tighten seat around the ball if not replace the valve with one that you can. Even then if the valve is on under pressure and you turn it off and try to poumd the quick connect in it still might not go if your using cheap ass quick connects. I use foster quick connects and most the time i can still tap the male in on the sidewalk with the valve open and connect 2 hoses together while one is still under pressure. So in conclusion get yourself a Mikey's valve(the one with an on/ off not the round knob one) and while you're shopping if you don't have um already pickup a few sets of good quality quick connects and your problem will disappear

Another trick it to take a small blunt object and rap it with something against the shut off cone.

But, there is a tool. I saw it with my own eyes down at the last supply store I was at. The owner even tried selling me one. It's a magical little pocket pressure popper thingy.

Usually you can flip the wand upside down and while squeezing the trigger force it on unless you are running extremely high pressure.
Another trick it to take a small blunt object and rap it with something against the shut off cone.

It helps to open the valve all the way too.

It was probably on the same shelf as a left handed smoke turner, bacon stretcher and a high volume cooperarer to the throttle waddle for a ducks ass. If you got an extra 70bucks laying around, ill sell ya something you can really use. A right hand metric crescent wrench ( add 10.00 for left hand version)

Calling a retail store to inquire about their products so I can order them elsewhere feels disingenuous. The ride there is 2 hours round trip. And he doesn't put out a warm hearted and welcoming vibe like you do.

I think all you guys would really like a pressure popper thingy.

Do you guys have a toolbag or something that you carry into homes when you first get there? I do. It has head lamps, tweezers, scissors, and a lighter for fiber id on furniture, notepad, and a bunch of really important and very professional doo-dads. Put the pressure popper thingy in there.

Well apparently I owe you an apology. According to my supplier they do make the tool you speak of. He says it looks like a quick connect without a poppet and instead of having female threds it has a flat area that can be smacked and a side hole for the pressure to bleed outa. Now ive seen and used a tool of that description for super high pressure hydraulic systems 3000-10,000psi that are positive displacement and can't be bled down without it. that had a screw to release nut they are a hundred bucks or so. but never heard of one for carpet cleaning nor would i ever imagine that anybody would consider a 100.00 tool to relieve pressure on a carpet cleaning hose. Not even me and i have a special tool for everything imaginable. Heres a picture of my drawer of just specialized disconnect tools! So sorry for mocking you. But if youre really looking at high pressure hydraulic disconnect tools and thinking seriously about buying one please consider also picking up one (or more) of my special metric crescent wrenches. They now come in metric and standard combos
