Customer of mine owns a custard stand. They just added an area for dine seating and now have some areas of older quarry tile with some anti slip particles in it, also areas of new quarry tile without the anti slip particles. Anything I should be concerned about as I clean it? Owner wanted to know if he should wax or seal the floor?

It rare to see Quarry Tile with out a topical of some sort on it. I've stripped quite a few...ugh.

is it staining from drinks and custard?

If not I would recommend LOTS of solvent base penetrative sealer

I color sealed the grout only in a new 1600 sq ft commercial kitchen several years ago. No product on the tiles. Still looks great.

Quarry tile is ceramic. In my experience, it's best to leave it unsealed.

Quarry tile is usually bulletproof, just clean normally .

Thanks guys. The entry area is very dirty but does not seem to be stained. Can't tell what color the grout is suppose to be. Its been cleaned with a dirty mop and water for many years. The new grout is a light grey color.

I must have missed the part of laying finish on it, you should recommend not laying any finish on th tile.

A fluorochemical solvent-based impregnator/sealer will prevent most permanent stains . . .

and make it easier to clean when it is dirty.
